What is Medicaid and how do I know if I am eligible?

Medicaid is a program sponsored by the
federal government and is implemented by that
states in the US to provide medical care to
people who cannot afford expensive medical
expenses. Think of it as a health insurance
for low income individuals. However, there is
a particular guideline where the states
decide who is eligible for this program.
Eligibility depends on the state you are
living in, your annual income, and other
factors affecting your life. You have to
contact your local Division of Public
Assistance in order to know if you are
eligible for the Medicaid program.
