Why will Hillary not address Healthcare in her first term as President?

Can you answer labken1817's question about Healthcare?:

Hillary has stated she will have Universal Healthcare in this country by the end of her second term.

This leads me to belive that she will not address healthcare in her first term. Why?

When did she say that?

Sources please.

Maybe its because she will not be president?

She will address it in her first term, but nothing will just happen overnight. I'm not a Hillary supporter, but you are talking about a nationwide overhaul of insurance changes. It will take over 8 years to complete in my opinion.

She can't snap her fingers and magically have universal health care.

thank you for writing this question.

how dare that arrogant so and so think that she'll be the president number one. and secondly, how dare she think that she'll be it for 2 terms.

once again, she thinks she's super slick.

she knows her healthcare plan won't work. so she's telling the american public that it'll all be in place by her second term, provided THEY VOTE HER BACK IN.

so when it won't be in place (and we both know that it won't), it won't matter then because it'll be her last term as president and she could care less about the american people.

it's like she's trying to hold the american people hostage. if they want universal healthcare, then they had better vote her back in for a 2nd term in order to get it.

how disgusting.

WAKE UP AMERICA.

hillary is a devious liar and thinks she has all the sense in the world.

If you saw Michael Moore's movie Sicko, you would find out that health insurance companies paid Hillary $800,000 during Bill's second term to shut her up about universal healthcare…and she did. Now she is bringing it up again but with a twist…that we be FORCED to buy health insurance and if we don't buy it, she might GARNISH our wages. It won't fly through congress , even if she gets to the White House. Senators and Representatives, even if the insurance companies pay them off, have to answer to their constituents if they want to be re-elected. No one avoids buying insurance because they don't like it…They just can't AFFORD it. All this trash talk about garnishing the wages of people who are most of them making the same wages that they made 10 years ago (with higher bills) or unemployed with no income…and talk about a possible recession. CRAZY!! She is killing her own campaign!!

Because it takes that long to get things done given Congress is usually uncooperative.

Because then the pharmaceutical companies who took her money will not get their investment back, and she'll find some excuse along the way to back out of the line everyone bought to get her elected (which hopefully won't happen). By a second term she would have a Republican Congress and she would just blame it on them.

And she'll be too busy continuing the trillion dollar wars that she is making money off of and has no intention of ending anymore than when she helped start them.

It would not suprise me.

She wants to put more strain on an economy in a recession, by mandating health care.

This will be paid for by the middle class people! Wake Up!

I heard she was paid off by the big drug companies. Check out the documentary Sicko by Michael Moore. It mentioned Hillary's involvement to NOT start universal health care.

If she handles her Presidency AT ALL like she handles her husband and her first failed HACK at Universal Health Care…

I'll be sadder than a goose on a golf green come opening day.

Lettie D @ 6:39 pm

So you noticed that, too. That's one reason she doesn't address the specific plan. Another is that she knows that a lot of people don't want mandated Health Care. Most people would rather have a choice.

Edit: Daisy! You obviously haven't been listening to her speak. The questioner is correct. I don't need a link. I heard her say it myself.

crazy_crats @ 4:13 am

Because the facts are that most of the uninsured are healthy young adults who do not want to pay for insurance but can afford it. The dems want to force that group to pay into a system from which they won't benefit. If they are forced to do that, there will be no second term for anyone and the dems will lose massively in Congress.

ninebadthings @ 8:22 am

Well she didn't do it during her husbands two terms and they promised back then. Just an empty promise. A carrot on a stick for the voters.

Ashley @ 7:50 pm

how am i suppose to know????????????????>:P

monkeyman45619 @ 12:18 am

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton cites her experience as a compelling reason voters should make her president, but nearly 2 million pages of documents covering her White House years are locked up in a building here, obscuring a large swath of her record as first lady.

oohbaby10 @ 4:07 am

She has made it perfectly clear that national healthcare is one of her top priorities. If she DID say that then she was just being realistic and not promising a certain time table.
