What is Promogran Prisma Matrix?

3M Promogran Prisma™ Collagen Matrix with ORC and Silver is an advanced wound care dressing designed to promote healing in chronic and acute wounds. It combines:

• Collagen – supports new tissue formation
• ORC (Oxidized Regenerated Cellulose) – binds excess proteases (MMPs)
• Silver – provides antimicrobial protection

This “wound balancing matrix” helps manage exudate, reduce harmful protease activity, and create an optimal healing environment. It transforms into a soft gel when it contacts wound fluid, maintaining moisture while protecting the wound bed.

The 4.34 square inch version typically measures approximately 2.2 in × 2 in (5.5 cm × 5 cm). It is suitable for small to medium-sized wounds such as:

• Diabetic foot ulcers
• Venous leg ulcers
• Pressure injuries
• Surgical wounds

The matrix can be trimmed to fit the exact wound size, ensuring proper coverage without overlapping onto intact surrounding skin.

Instructions for Use

Before application:

• Cleanse the wound thoroughly with normal saline or prescribed wound cleanser.

• Ensure bleeding is controlled before applying the dressing.

During application:

• Remove the sterile matrix from packaging.
• Trim if necessary to match wound size.
• Place directly onto the wound bed.

After application:

• Secure in place without excessive pressure.

Indications & Precautions

Indications:

Precautions:

• Do not use in patients with known sensitivity to silver or collagen.
• Not intended for heavily bleeding wounds.
